The "Media Grabber" window is used to download the images and other media on a website. Although you can use Configuration filters to download just the images on a website, this window simplifies the task because you don't need to deal with configurations. Moreover the special Media Grabber window provides an image preview pane that displays thumbnails of each encountered image downloaded, creating a mini slide show.
- URL
Enter the URL of the website you want to download.
- Grab images on
Select the search level for images:
This page only: Downloads just the images located on the given URL.
This page and the next level: Downloads the images located on the given URL and all the pages it references.
All pages: Downloads all the images on the whole website.
- Flatten when saving
If you check this checkbox Blue Crab will save all the downloaded images in the top level of the host directory, rather than creating subfolders of the host directory that mimic the directory structure of the website.
- Configuration
Use the popup to select a configuration. Recall that configurations are created in the Configurations Window and edited in the Configuration Editor.
Note that the image grabber may override some of your settings to achieve its own goals.
- Stay in folder
Only grab URLs whose path begins with the path of the starting URL.
- "View..." button
Open the selected configuration in the Configuration Editor.
- "Browse" button
Open the downloaded URL in your default web browser. Note that it is not enabled until the download is complete.
- "Reveal" button
Display the downloaded directory in the Finder.
- "Grab" button
Initiate the download. Also used to stop an active download.
This window will display a progress bar when it begins the download, and also display the URL it is currently processing and the amount of bytes it has downloaded.
